"I am merely an interpreter blessed with a large number of muses chasing my creative talent down in the real world as well as in the spiritual realm." RL.
Ryan's Background:
Ryan was born a native to the New England area and makes a busy living performing as a multi-instrumentalist, teaching a large variety of life and art based skills with a zen like attitude, composing music, painting, refurbishing/selling pianos, and Supporting the Arts in General to keep himself extra busy!
Ryan has found a timeless passion in his life founding organizations that promote fellow artists including Jazzmen Music and Gallery (a West Hartford, Ct. based Art Store/ Music Gallery.) Jazzmen Records (a non for profit promotional page for musicians.) and Artists Supporting Artists a "chamber of commerce" for artists bringing creativity and a passion for inspiring the community to the greater Ct. area!
Ryan has his degree in Music Composition which he considers the art of painting naturally within the harmony of an orchestra! He follows a Toest philosophy for finding harmony and a natural rhythm to what ever he is creating and this mind state is reflected in his unique impressionistic painting style.
"My paintings are an explosion of color mixed with an implosion of spirituality that is designed to bring the viewers life into the art work. My goal is to capture your eyes and your spirit within one moment in a lifetime!" Ryan David Bird Larson.
Some Words From The Artists:
My paintings are visions inspired by the Island lifestyle I feel deep down within my soul, most likely from a past lifetime spent abroad. As a spiritually driven self proclaimed holy man I find that spiritual realm blesses me with several types of visions.
My favorite visions are snapshots from my life where I capture a spiritual connection to my surroundings or maybe a souls self expression I have captured within my vision. My main focus on these paintings are the emotions conveyed through the scenery The painting itself might be a different setting all together, but the raw emotion and presence of that moment come through one hundred percent!
The second type of visions I have are personal portraits that are given to me to interpret. When I am given such a task I make sure to interview the subject to bring out their self expression into the piece making the portrait something they alone will connect with in a special way.
The most amazing visions that come to me are what you could call portraits and life time photo shots from a life I haven't experienced that appear in my head once in a blue moon. These few paintings that have been inspired in this manner were vividly stuck in my head even though I have personally never experienced them. It is my believe that these paintings are visions past down from a muse who wants a commissioned painting from a past lifetime in this life time, so I simply paint the vision. Usually on the same day I received it.
In between these visions and commissions I find my self letting the art paint itself creating lines and forms inspired by my own moments in nature, then utilizing my intuition to define their proper place within a portrait and wrapping it all together with a catchy theme. Both methods utilize a zen mind-state were I feel the art creates itself as opposed to me being the creator.
As a artists with a degree in Music Composition you would think I would be more on point with making a claim on my originality, but then again amazingly catchy melodies I never played or created seem to pop in my head as well, (usually the same one continuously for about a month until I finally sit down and record it.) so who am I to claim anything is my own as an artists, I am merely an interpreter blessed with a large number of muses chasing my creative talent down in the real world as well as in the spiritual realm.
